Olympic and Hoover Apartment Complex
Olympic & Hoover: A Vacant lot at the edge of Westlake and Pico-Union will soon be marked with a new planned development with 173 apartments. The project is set for review today by the Los Angeles Planning Commission.
A new building is planned to be seven stories high with 36,990 S.F. of commercial space distributed across the first three floors.
The building will have 35% more density, which means 43 more units. In return, the developer agrees to set aside 20 of the project’s apartments for very low-income residents.
Parking will allow space for 262 automobiles and 231 bikes and will be located in a subterranean parking garage and a ground-floor lot.
The project designed by M2A Architects shows that it would have an interesting angular shape, with balconies and walkways protruding from the side of the building. A nice and open courtyard space overlooking Olympic Boulevard would be located on the third floor. Multiple decks would include various amenities for residents like a swimming pool, fitness center, and lounge area.
According to Olympic and Hoover plans, the project might take 2 years to be built, however a timeline has not been set yet.
